Susanna Leighton BAPO Travelling Fellowship

The BAPO Travelling Fellowship is named in memory of the late Mrs Susanna Leighton, Consultant Paediatric Otolaryngologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital and BAPO Council Member 2001-2004. The purpose of the Fellowship is to support a non-consultant member of BAPO to attend the European Society of Paediatric Otorhinolaryngology congress.

Eligibility:

Application is open to any BAPO member holding an ENT training grade post (SpR), locum for training post (LAT) or non-consultant, non-training grade post (SAS) in ENT at the time of the closing date for applications.

Value:

The Fellowship is valued at approximately �1000, subject to regular review by BAPO Council.

Application:

Application will be competitive and based on:

-           an essay on any subject within paediatric otorhinolaryngology of no more than 2,000 words representing the work of the applicant or a review article within the field of paediatric otorhinolaryngology. It should contain work which has not previously been published or accepted for publication.

-           a CV of the applicant, and

-           a statement by the applicant stating their reasons for applying

Assessors:

The applications will be assessed by three members or former members of BAPO council appointed by the President.

 The Association reserves the right not to award the Prize, should no entry be deemed to have reached the required standard of excellence.
